In my 18 years of dedicated service to Burnet and Bertram, I have served on key educational and civic committees. Since my 2023 appointment to the BCISD School Board, I have focused on advancing academic excellence for the families and students of BCISD.

I was involved in a large, diverse work group of educators, community leaders, school administrators, and top student leaders, where we identified key initiatives for BCISD's upcoming years and updated the mission and vision statements, dedicating several full days to collaborative breakout sessions over 2-3 months.
As part of a multi-year committee of community leaders, I met monthly with the superintendent and staff, engaging in financial and construction updates to ensure that bond funds were spent properly and that projects were completed as planned.
As a member of a group comprising community leaders, educators, and administrators, I meet monthly during the school year to recommend academic calendars to the Board and identify curriculum and program initiatives designed to close achievement gaps and enhance academic performance.
In my role within the Bertram-specific advisory group, I commit monthly during the school year to receive updates and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving test scores, attendance, and parental involvement.
In our monthly mentoring program at Bertram Elementary, I meet with a 4th grader to explore leadership lessons and enjoy informal mentorship time, alongside a dedicated team of BHS student and adult volunteers.
I've dedicated countless hours throughout the year to support our program beyond school contributions, managing everything from concessions to finances, coordinating with directors, outfitting and maintaining uniforms, to fundraising and chaperoning, all to ensure our students have the resources they need for success.
As the treasurer for Project Graduation, I participated in fundraising efforts, oversee all financial transactions including the collection of proceeds and payment of bills, and actively participate in both monthly and board meetings.
As the PTO President for Bertram Elementary, I revitalized the organization by recruiting officers and members, and worked closely with school administrators and staff to plan and execute key events like field day and holiday parties.
